Biography

Robert J. Mitzman, the Founder and Chairman of the Quick Group of Companies has amassed more than 30 years of experience in the worldwide courier and international mail industry.

His career began in 1976 as a Regional Sales Representative and then Vice President of Operations. In 1981, Bob decided to capitalize on the recent deregulation of the courier industry and start his own business. With only $7000 in the bank and the goodwill he built up from his experience in the marketplace, he launched Quick International Courier and began providing his clients with flexible and reliable pick up and delivery service 24 hours a day. Soon after, Quick established an overnight service from New York to London on the Laker Air “Sky Train.” This trans-Atlantic route blossomed into a highway of high-speed deliveries as Quick’s reputation grew in both the international and domestic courier arenas.

Today, Quick serves as a provider of worldwide-customized high-priority transportation services, including warehousing, logistics and fulfillment services.  In addition to its extreme-delivery capabilities, Quick transports life-saving items such as vital organs for transport or research through its medical division and provides critical deliveries for major pharmaceutical companies through its biopharmaceutical division, QuickSTAT. Quick also has 500+ full-time employees, over 4000 service partners worldwide, and conducts business on six different continents.

Bob is married and has four children. A well-known entrepreneur and an expert on the courier business, Bob is frequently asked to speak on panels and to comment on issues affecting the industry.  In 1998, he ranked #39 in Success Magazine’s first-ever “Success 100,” a list of the nation’s top entrepreneurs, and in 1999 he was named Ernst & Young New York Entrepreneur of the Year.  Quick International has been named one of the top 200 privately held companies in Crain’s New York Business Magazine for the past six years.
