As part of a global expansion plan, QuickSTAT has opened four new locations that will provide a market leading, Just In Time (JIT) solution to improve turn around times of phase change shipper solutions, and other Vacuum Insulated Packaging (VIP) Systems.

The program will help to ensure the viability of high-risk shipments to geographical and logistically challenging countries, in order to minimise the risk of a shipment temperature excursion.

The new conditioning facilities are located in Singapore, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. These new temperature controlled facilities are in addition to QuickSTAT’s conditioning facility in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which was commissioned as a result of a partnership between Almac and QuickSTAT.

QuickSTAT will provide conditioning and same day dispatch for each customer’s shipment. The units will be conditioned under the manufacturer’s strict standard operating procedures for the specific temperature ranges required: +2° to +8° C, +15° to +25° C and -25° to-15° C. Units will be transported in an expedited manner, reducing turn around time and accelerating delivery to most locations worldwide by at least 24 hours from previous industry methods.

Each facility was designed, mapped and qualified according to EU GDP guidelines, and are strategically located close to each country’s major international airports, in order to achieve expedited transit and delivery.

The Inventory Management System, developed by QuickSTAT’s in-house IT team, has the ability to track VIP shippers in transit, monitors the actual time the package is valid from pack out time, and calculates time from pack out to expiration, based on the packaging validation specifications. It also includes a managed inventory, inclusive of returns, therefore providing efficient use of return shippers, which is an environmentally friendly solution.

The Phase Change Shipping units will be fulfilled on a JIT basis, with same day dispatch for each customer shipment. The base operation for the program will be in a newly commissioned QuickSTAT temperature controlled facility, which was designed, mapped and qualified according to EU GDP guidelines. The facility is strategically located near to the Belfast International Airport, and 30 minutes from Almac’s Global Headquarters in Craigavon, UK.

The timer calculates how much time has elapsed from packing, and continually provides the actual time the package is valid from pack out time. A built in formula calculates the time left for expiration from pack out, based on the packaging validation specifications. 

The system provides milestones and built in alarms, to ensure that the specific Cold Chain protocols for that shipment is adhered to, such as client communication and coolant replenishment. Use of Cold Chain Manager provides critical information to the QuickSTAT Operations team, so they can be proactive, consult with their clients and make contingency plans or intervene, to minimize risks and avoid any threats to their product. 

With QuickOnlineRx, shippers can view the milestones of the transit in real time, to include status of the shipment, and an auditable history of any steps taken to ensure temperature is maintained--such as adding dry ice, wet ice or gel packs.

With the ever-changing regulatory landscape in Health Care and Pharmaceutical transportation, he will help to ensure that Quick's worldwide clients are compliant and utilize best practices in logistics and cold chain. He will drive continual improvements to ensure timely and safe delivery of urgent and life-saving shipments, where integrity, speed, and high performance levels are essential. 

Mr. Tungatt brings a wealth of experience in the specialist logistics and transportation arena, having spent almost 30 years in the industry, with his primary focus in the Healthcare and Life Science industries. His experience includes management positions in Customer Service, Operations and establishing Quality Assurance and Compliance functions under ISO9001 at Marken Limited, where he helped to ensure global compliance. His expertise also includes US and European Aviation Security Compliance. 

He is involved in many industry forums, and has helped to develop standards and best practices to help ensure patient safety through a disciplined and best practice mindset. Mr. Tungatt is an active member of AICES (Association of Courier and Express Services), the European Compliance Association and the PDA. Robert is a member of the IATA Time and Temperature Task Force, which is responsible for the Perishable Cargo Regulations, Chapter 17 Air Transport Logistics for Time and Temperature Sensitive Healthcare Products.
