New CDC guidelines

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released its first guidance for people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. They can safely visit other vaccinated people indoors—without wearing a mask or social distancing. In addition, vaccinated people can visit some unvaccinated people without masks or social distancing as well.

The CDC announced today that it is updating its physical distancing guidelines for children in schools from 6 feet to 3 feet. Wearing a mask, however, is still critical. And when it's not possible to accommodate masks, such as while eating, the CDC says six feet of distance should be maintained. read more

FDA staff endorses Johnson & Johnson single-shot COVID vaccine for emergency use.

If approved, J&J’s application would be the 3rd vaccine authorized for emergency use in the United States—following those developed by Pfizer-BioNTech & Moderna

Pfizer Coronavirus Vaccine Protects Against U.K., South Africa Variants, Study Shows

The vaccine developed by Pfizer appears to be effective against the more transmissible variants of the coronavirus, including the one first discovered in South Africa

The vaccine developed by the University of Oxford & AstraZeneca not only protects people from serious illness & death, it also slows the transmission of the virus.

The researchers' study is the first to demonstrate evidence that any coronavirus vaccine can reduce virus transmission.

Johnson & Johnson announced today that their one-shot vaccine protects against COVID-19, but it is not as strong as others already being used in the U.S.

The company said that trials in the U.S. & seven other countries showed 66% effectiveness in preventing moderate to severe illness and was 85% protective against the most serious symptoms. www.
